Does the Sandbox sync continuously with my production environment?

No, the developer sandbox is designed as an isolated snapshot of your configuration. Any changes made to your production environment after the developer sandbox is created will not be reflected there.

Currently, the Sandbox does not automatically sync changes back to production. Once validated, changes must be manually replicated. Support for syncing back to production is a high-priority feature planned for release soon.

Yes, the architecture supports ESM through a specific hierarchy. You must first create the sandbox at the organization level. Once this is established, each service provider within your organization can create their own independent environment for testing.

To give you a realistic testing ground, the Sandbox mirrors essential setup items, including Organization & Sites, Roles, Permissions, Users, Groups, and Queues. It also copies your Service Portal settings, Service Catalog items, Custom Forms, Custom Fields, and Automation Rules. However, to maintain security, sensitive data such as single sign-on (SSO), credentials, and audit logs are not copied over.

Creating your sandbox is a straightforward process within your existing account—simply navigate to Setup > Account > Sandbox, and select Create Sandbox. Once the creation process begins, it can take a few hours to complete, and you will receive an email notification when your environment is ready for use. Learn more in the Sandbox documentation.
