Active Directory or LDAP Authentication
Simplify secure file transfers with Active Directory, LDAP authentication
Connect to Serv-U using Active Directory and LDAP for authentication
SolarWinds® Serv-U® Managed File Transfer (MFT) Server offers a secure way to transfer files—including large files—over the internet. You can connect to Serv-U manually, but it’s even easier when you use Active Directory and LDAP authentication.
After a quick setup process, users can use their Active Directory credentials to access Serv-. They can also authenticate against your other LDAP servers. An LDAP authentication example is using the protocol to leverage OpenLDAP or Apache Directory Server access.
Leverage Windows authentication to securely log in to Serv-U MFT Server
Remembering a bevy of different passwords and home directories is at best a nuisance and at worst a challenge capable of interfering with users’ abilities to access their accounts. Fortunately, Serv-U MFT Server simplifies the process by offering access using Windows Active Directory credentials. When they use these credentials, users will automatically be placed in the home directory so they don’t have to specify one themselves.
Use LDAP authentication to increase file transfer security
LDAP is a protocol used by Active Directory and a number of LDAP servers like OpenLDAP and Apache Directory Server. When it’s set up, users can use LDAP authentication to log in to Serv-U MFT Server using the credentials provided by an LDAP server. Like with Active Directory, users will then be able to use the server’s home directory instead of having to specify one.
An LDAP authentication example would be logging into Serv-U through an OpenLDAP server. Once a user is logged in, they can begin the secure file transfer process through Serv-U.
