The Syslog Server tool from SolarWinds listens for incoming syslog messages on UDP port 514, decodes the messages for logging purposes, and stores the messages in a local database.

With the Syslog Server, you can also send syslog messages to another syslog server. This feature is commonly used to add messages manually to a remote syslog database during a system upgrade or while troubleshooting a network problem.

"I would not trade SolarWinds for the world. I will continually sing its praises to the masses."
