This customer explains how to avoid user downtime by identifying end points using older applications. This allows coordination with the Application Admin to avoid network downtime.
The problem is the end users don't like to, they don't like the change a lot because it can affect applications. And the key here is to identify our end points that are using those applications so we know that these end points on old segments may be being used in conjunction with older applications and we need to coordinate with our application admins to make sure we don't have, users don't have any downtime.
And IPAM helps us identify that, and we can give them a list of things that may affect applications and it lets us coordinate better with our admins. 'Cause if I just gave them an email, or a paper list, it could get lost, someone may not know what it's for.
You can always refer it back to that and know exactly what subnet it's in, who it's dealing with, what department, maybe, and it gives you a better idea of what applications may be affected by any changes.
