SolarWinds® Storage Performance Monitor is a standalone free tool that shows total IOPS and Throughput metrics for your multi-vendor storage devices. With Storage Performance Monitor, your Storage Admin and IT Operations teams can be alerted to storage device status, view key storage array metrics, specify critical thresholds to prompt alerts, and set custom polling and discovery intervals.
SolarWinds® Storage Performance Monitor provides IOPS and throughput monitoring for storage arrays from Dell EMC®, NetApp®, IBM®, and PureStorage®. It's a standalone free tool designed for storage and systems administrators.
To get started, simply click ‘Add Storage Array’ and choose the preferred array type from the list. Click "Next" and add your connection details.
The tool will then connect to the provider and return a list of available arrays. Select which storage array you want to add and click ‘Add Array.’
Once the array has been added, the tool will discover all the storage array information.
To edit thresholds, click on the ellipsis points to your monitored pools or NAS volumes. From this panel, you can set local thresholds for Total IOPS and Total Throughput.
Click ‘Save’ to update your new threshold values.
For a list of active notifications, click on the ‘Notifications’ icon. From the drop-down window, you can view and dismiss notifications.
Click ‘Settings’ to manage global thresholds and apply them to your monitored Pools, LUNs, or NAS Volumes. You can also set your polling and discovery intervals and change the notification settings.
Here, you can also enable the “Write notifications to Microsoft® event viewer” switch. Once enabled, you can view the SW SPM log-file using the Microsoft Event Viewer.
