APM integration with SAM is designed so you can see advanced AppInsight™ for IIS™ metrics in the SAM web console
This video shows how to activate Application Performance Monitor powered by AppOptics™ from within Server & Application Monitor.
Once activation is complete, APM can provide in-depth performance monitoring and detailed visibility into the health and performance of your custom .NET applications on Microsoft® IIS™.
This added visibility can help you quickly identify the root cause of issues affecting end-user experiences.
In order to monitor your established and custom applications in a single, unified view, Server & Application Monitor should already be installed. If you don't own SAM, download and install a free 30-day trial.
Log into your SAM web console, click Settings, All Settings, APM Deployment Summary, and then click Add.
Next, register and create an APM account. Select the nodes you want to add to your APM integration and click Deploy.
If you are already using SolarWinds® AppOptics, click the link to log into your account, and navigate to Settings, API Tokens.
Generate a new API token, and click the clipboard icon to copy it. Paste the token into the 'Add an Integration Wizard' and click 'Apply Token.'
Select the nodes you want to add to your APM integration and click 'Deploy.'
In most cases, local Microsoft IIS services will restart automatically. If that's happened, you're done.
Otherwise, you may be prompted to restart IIS services manually.
Now that you have successfully integrated APM within SAM, performance metrics will begin to appear in resources, such as IIS Pools with APM Data and Top IIS Pools.
