- Proactively monitor virtualization-unique performance problems
- Ensure that the entire virtual infrastructure performs as expected
- Understand if you are experiencing virtualization-specific problems such as CPU (CPU-ready), memory (ballooning) or storage contention
- Monitor the top-N offenders and problem areas
With the Virtualization Performance Analyzer and performance management dashboards in SolarWinds Virtualization Manager, you can proactively monitor the health of your virtual environment, ensure it meets SLAs, and minimize shared resource contention for CPU, memory, network I/O, and SAN I/O.
The Virtualization Performance Analyzer allows you to drill down and troubleshoot performance issues. You can also plot and sort metrics, both present and historical, across different object types. For example, you can show a datastore’s aggregate I/O throughput and the VMs on that datastore generating the most I/O. Different metrics sharing the same units can also be plotted across different objects. Stack charts are accessible through the use of drill-down graphs, providing a deeper level of detail. For example, you can see how overall VM I/O latency is broken out across its VMDK disks.
The Virtualization Performance Analyzer even overlays information such as alerts and notes on top of the graphs to aid in troubleshooting.
