Multiple virtualization dashboards are provided out-of-the-box and populated with common best practices for virtualization management. The Administrator Dashboard delivers real-time performance metrics and alerts you when there is contention between memory, CPU, and storage I/O. Other out-of-the-box virtualization dashboards help you keep an eye on VM sprawl and capacity. The Showback Dashboard portrays CPU, memory and storage usage across any configured resource pools and folders which commonly represent departments, projects, lines of business, and other business entities. There’s even a Cloud Cost Estimator which estimates what it would cost to run discovered VMs on Amazon EC2.

Customizing virtualization dashboards is a breeze using a robust search capability that enables you to search, filter and sort across collected configuration and performance attributes. This gives you incredible flexibility when creating dashboards, reports, alerts, trends, and other kinds of content.

A query builder allows you to extend the out-of-the-box or community-contributed virtualization dashboards across any combination of searchable attributes. In addition to collected data, custom attributes can also be added to objects through the use of labels. These are also searchable, allowing objects to be grouped. For example, you can easily create a dashboard where objects are grouped by VM owner.

You can even post dashboard widgets to a portal such as SharePoint, making it easy to share key status information with stakeholders without giving access to VMware® vCenter™ or Hyper-V® Manager or installing the VI client on their desktops.
