Polling Engines
For larger Orion NPM customers, SolarWinds provides Polling Engines which allow you to distribute the polling
load across multiple servers.
Maintenance Impact
As part of the upgrade process, your maintenance renewal date will not change, however
your renewal price will be based on the new license tier level. If your Orion is
currently out of maintenance, please contact our
maintenance team to restore your license to active status before upgrading.

We’ve made upgrading to a new license very easy. For customers on Orion NPM, Orion NCM, or Server & Application Monitor, simply install the new license tier on top of your existing deployment. For Orion modules (NetFlow Traffic Analyzer, IP Address Manager, IP SLA Manager), simply purchase your new license, run the SolarWinds License Manager, enter the new activation key, and restart your Orion services. In minutes, you’ll be running at the new license level!
