Orion Product Integrations

Orion's architecture enables easy integration with other SolarWinds products and third-party applications to maximize your investment. Orion stores collected data in an open, Microsoft® SQL Server database which can be easily accessed from, or incorporated into, external applications.

Orion also includes an advanced alert engine which provides an easy-to-use, real-time method of sending data to upstream systems and event handlers. Orion's web interface is built for easy customization and includes methods for integrating third-party application data or for referencing Orion's data from within other websites.

Third-Party Integrations

Microsoft System Center
A free Orion Management Pack will be available in June 2008 for download, which enables deep integration with Microsoft® System Center Operations Manager 2007 and Microsoft System Center Essentials 2007. Through this new Management Pack, Orion brings extensive network visibility to Microsoft management platforms by pulling rich network fault and performance data from Orion and presenting it natively within System Center.

The Orion Management Pack delivers detailed network information to System Center, including network top talkers, comprehensive network traffic summaries and NetFlow analysis, and multi-vendor network device details, such as specific router throughput. This incredibly detailed network information is seamlessly integrated into System Center and is presented side-by-side with existing application and server information, providing a single comprehensive view of server, desktop, and network infrastructure performance.

SolarWinds Integrations

Integration with Engineer's Toolset
For customers with Engineer's Toolset and Orion, you can leverage the functionality of the Toolset directly from the Orion website by simply right-clicking with your mouse. Users may access powerful applications, such as NetFlow Realtime, Real-Time Interface Monitor and Cisco Configuration Viewer, directly from the Orion website.

Integration with Orion Modules
SolarWinds also offers several Orion modules that directly integrate with Orion, including VoIP Monitor, NetFlow Traffic Analyzer, Wireless Network Monitor, and Application Performance Monitor.

Integration with Orion Scalability Engines
Orion ensures that your network will never outgrow your management solution. As a highly scalable, network management platform, Orion can accommodate network growth through the addition of a hot standby engine, multiple polling engines, and additional web servers.

Integration with Cirrus Configuration Manager
Orion displays Cirrus configurations and reports directly from the Web console, enabling you to easily troubleshoot whether a network issue is related to a configuration change.

Integration with LANsurveyor
SolarWinds LANsurveyor can quickly and easily discover your network and automatically create a detailed network map. The map can be saved and exported to Microsoft Office Visio®. Either directly from LANsurveyor or from Visio, the map can be imported into Orion’s Map Maker feature with a single click.
