- Scale from 50 to more than 100,000 network elements with a hot standby engine, multiple polling engines, and additional web servers
- Accommodate network growth and changing network performance management needs
- Consolidate information from multiple Orion Network Performance Monitor (NPM) deployments using Orion Enterprise Operations Console (EOC)
Orion Network Performance Monitor (NPM) ensures that your network will never outgrow your management solution. As a highly scalable, network management platform, Orion NPM can accommodate network growth through the addition of a hot standby engine, multiple polling engines, and additional web servers.
For distributed networks with multiple instances of Orion NPM, the Orion Enterprise Operations Console (EOC) provides a consolidated command center to provide unified visibility into remote Orion servers. Whether your network is comprised of 50 elements or 100,000 elements, Orion NPM can support your growing environment without major configuration changes.

- Orion Enterprise Operations Console (EOC)
For environments with multiple Orion NPM instances, Orion EOC provides a consolidated command center to monitor your entire enterprise network. Giving you unified visibility into remote Orion servers running Orion NPM and its associated modules, Orion EOC enables you to monitor as few as several hundred network elements to well over one million elements by consolidating data from dozens of remote Orion server deployments.
- Hot Standby Engine
Orion NPM's Hot Standby Engine consistently checks the primary systems' ability to record network performance data. In the event of a failure, the Hot Standby Engine automatically assumes network monitoring responsibility. When a failed polling engine recovers to an operational state, the Hot Standby Engine automatically returns all monitoring tasks to the original polling engine.
- Additional Polling Engine
With the addition of another Polling Engine, the polling load is distributed between multiple servers for large enterprise networks; a typical bottleneck when polling thousands of devices on large enterprise networks.
- Additional Web Server
By adding an additional web server, the Orion NPM website can be run on a different machine than the Orion server, enabling more users to access the Orion web interface without affecting performance and providing increased scalability and deployment flexibility.
