What's New in Orion 8.5
Good News for Existing Customers!
Automatic Upgrades from v7.8.5, 8.0, 8.0.1, 8.0.2 and 8.1 to v8.5
If you have a valid maintenance agreement for Orion, simply install Orion 8.5 on top of your existing v7.8.5, 8.0, 8.0.1, 8.0.2 or 8.1 installation. There's no need to uninstall these previous versions, saving you valuable time!
*Please Note: Earlier versions must first upgrade to Orion v7.8.5. Please contact support if you need the 7.8.5 build. If you have extra polling engines, Web servers or the Hot Standby Engine, you must also upgrade these components to 8.5.

* NEW FEATURE: Maintenance Mode for Nodes
The new maintenance mode for nodes feature enables you to specify when a node will become unmanaged and when it will re-manage again.
Advanced Alert Manager Enhancements
This enhancement provides a simple reset condition option that resets the alert when the trigger condition is no longer true. Additionally, with v8.5, you can now more easily alert when a device reboots, when an IOS changes, and when IOS family changes. The alert creation workflow has also been streamlined in this latest version of Orion.
SNMP Enhancements
With v8.5, you can now monitor elements on custom SNMP ports other the default port of 161.
Discovery Enhancements
If you change the speed of a managed interface, Orion will automatically update the speed; however, if you set a custom speed, Orion will respect the custom speed.
Configuration Wizard Enhancements
The Orion Configuration Wizard makes it simpler and easier to update specific components. For example, users are not required to use the "sa" SQL account credentials during configuration if they use a pre-existing database.
Installation Enhancements
The 8.5 install automatically detects SQL Express and configures it to support Orion. Furthermore, Report Scheduler, Polling Engine Tuning, and Advanced Node Details are now included in the base Orion install.
Reporting Enhancements
Orion now includes an out-of-the box bandwidth utilization report for billing and quality of service purposes. Users may now also insert their company graphics into Orion reports for personalization.
Integration Enhancements
Users with Toolset 9.0 and later installed can now right-click on an interface to launch NetFlow Realtime focused on that interface.
