I'm sold on this time saving tool

I'm a relatively new startup IT company, and this tool saves me literally hours of investigative work when bringing on a new client. I can plug in and within a minute or two, I can see the whole network. This is a must have for anyone that does any sort of IT work.

I ran across a free offer so figured I would try it. Worked like a champ. The only downfall is it is limited. Great for small business though.

I ran into a link to download the LANSurveyor Express for free. We do not have a current map of our network so I gave it a try. The discovery was very fast and easy to run. The only issue I have is the size of the Visio document that was created.I am a new user so it may be that I am missing something?! Regardless I was impressed with how easy it was to install and configure.

I received an email requesting I try out this tool. I was extremely pleased with how easy it was to use. I pulled and mapped the network I tested it on pretty accurately. The only flaw that I have noticed so far is the limited icons available and using incorrect icons for printers. There were several printers on the network that were tagged Epson printers when in actuality they were HP printers. Other than this, I can see using this in day to day activities and is worth using.

Missing LinkSys Products

Although the program works flawlessly, I find it hard to believe there there are no LinkSys smart Shapes in the router library. LinkSys routers,Print servers, switches or any other LinkSys product simply does not exist. LinkSys is the nations leading router manufacture for home use and small business use. They are a division of Cisco which has a full array of icons for their products. As a result, some of the LinkSys products I have were not recognized in the network. In addition, I keep getting an invalid serial number error when I try to run the program, then the program begins ok. Not sure what is going on there. Otherwise it seems to do what it claims.
