Letter from the CEO
Now that 2007 is well underway, I want to take a moment and update you on some of the exciting things happening at SolarWinds. We'll start with a little bit of history. SolarWinds has been a profitable company since its inception in 1998, gaining 40,000 customers worldwide, 600,000 freeware users, more than 400 business partners and greater than $50 million annual sales run rate. For the past 5 years, SolarWinds has consistently grown revenues more than 40 percent annually. More significantly, this growth has been created while delivering operating profits in excess of 50 percent of sales due to the Company's unique, low-touch sales and delivery operating model. Today, we are proud to announce that Austin Ventures recently joined Bain Capital and Insight Venture Partners as a strategic investor in the company.
In addition, we recently announced the 8.0 release of Orion Network Performance Monitor and our newest product Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer. Over the next 12 months, we will expand Orion to monitor and manage VoIP, as well as deliver additional application performance monitoring and network service monitoring. We will also release multiple new versions of our award-winning SolarWinds Toolset, which will include tighter integration with Orion. To continue to assist network managers in meeting regulatory requirements, we will also deliver new and enhanced products in the areas of device inventory and configuration and change management.
We recognize, as a result of rapid growth and aggressive product plan, that our support has to be scaled accordingly to meet the needs of our loyal customer base. We pride ourselves in the quality of our support offering, and apologize if our response time has been longer than usual. Don't worry, We will get to you. In fact, we've already added additional resources to quickly remedy our response time. Tips of the Month
Add Macros to Map Labels in Orion!
Macros can be included in any map label. The macros are substituted with information from the node the label is attached to. The following map shows a few examples. The IP address of Dogbert is added below the Dogbert icon, circuit and port information has been added to the link between Dogbert and Dell Switch. Last, reboot has been added to the Cisco12-0 switch.
