What is a VMware Machine

VMware® Machine refers to any virtual machine operating in a VMware environment. A VMware Machine may be a desktop PC, a server, or any of a number of virtual appliances and virtual network devices. A VMware Machine typically has the same characteristics as a corresponding physical machine but does not rely on a dedicated hardware to operate; instead, a VMware Machine shares the resources of a physical machine with other virtual machines.
