Virtual Memory may refer to memory in certain operating systems, such as Windows® XP, which are created by using storage capacity from a PCs hard disk to supplement the machine’s physical memory. Alternatively, virtual memory may refer to the memory allocated to a virtual machine by a hypervisor. In either case, virtual memory stands in contrast to physical memory.
