NetFlow V9 is an iteration of Cisco’s NetFlow traffic protocol that differs from earlier iterations in that it is template-based. Like earlier versions, NetFlow V9 allows network devices to gather specific data about inbound network packets. NetFlow V9 incorporates an extensible design for the format of the data that enabled devices gather to provide greater flexibility for future versions.
