What is FDDI

FDDI, or Fiber Distributed Data Interface, refers to a network that uses optical fiber or twisted copper pair cable for high-speed data transfer. A typical FDDI network is a LAN, WAN or MAN (Metropolitan Area Network). FDDI networks can support very large, geographically distributed networks with thousands of users.
