Disk striping is a synonym for data striping. Disk striping, or data striping, is a disk array data mapping technique in which fixed-length sequences of virtual disk data addresses are mapped to sequences of member disk addresses in a regular rotating pattern. Disk striping is part of a RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) data storage scheme and is commonly called RAID Level 0 or RAID 0.
