Application performance tuning refers to a process that is used to identify and eliminate hotspots and bottlenecks until an application meets performance objectives. Application performance tuning is enabled by software that gathers and delivers data about systems running the applications being tuned. Application performance tuning decisions are typically based on reports about the applications, CPU and memory use, from a system perspective, or availability, from a user perspective.
