Stripeset refers to equal-sized areas of free space on at least 2 disks in a RAID 0 configuration. A stripeset may span as many as 32 disks combined in a single volume. Data written to a stripeset is written evenly across all the disks to minimize the impact of failure from any single disk. Utilities that monitor disk capacity and performance can alert administrators to potential stripeset data issues.
