Fast SCSI is one of a class of SCSI implementations that differ in data path width and data transfer rates. Fast SCSI is defined by 10 mega transfers per second. Wide fast SCSI has a 16-bit data path and 20 MB/s transfer, and narrow fast SCSI a 10 MB/s transfer. System management utilities can track the type of fast SCSI devices in systems on a network and show the systems grouped by type.
