Reset the WMI performance counters

In some cases, the WMI performance counters might not get transferred to WMI because services were delayed or started out of order. In these cases, reset the WMI counters.

  1. Stop the Windows Management Instrumentation service.
  2. Click Start > Run, enter cmd, and click OK.
  3. At the command prompt, enter winmgmt /resyncperf.
  4. At the command prompt, enter wmiadap.exe /f.
  5. Enter exit, and press enter to close the command prompt.
  6. Start the Windows Management Instrumentation service.
  7. After resetting the WMI counters, retest WMI.
