Configure dashboards

You can share the contents of dashboards with other colleagues, and also control who can access the different dashboards. This way you can ensure that the relevant content is available for colleagues, while other content is hidden from view.

Create a report of the contents of a dashboard

  1. Select a dashboard, and click Create Dashboard Report.
  2. Provide the required information, and click Save.

    The Report Schedules screen is displayed, showing the list of reports.

  3. When the report is complete, click Download, click Save, and provide the download location.

Export a dashboard to an XML file

By exporting a dashboard, you can make it available for import into a different Virtualization Manager appliance, so that you do not have to configure your dashboard setup again.

  1. Click Explore > Content.
  2. Filter content by type, and select Dashboards.
  3. Select a dashboard, click Export.
  4. Click Save, and provide the location for the export file.

Set the owner of a dashboard

  1. Click Explore > Content.
  2. Filter content by type, and select Dashboards.
  3. Select a dashboard, click Select Owner, and specify the owner.

Control user access to a dashboard

  1. Click Explore > Content.
  2. Filter content by type, and select Dashboards.
  3. Select a dashboard, and click the pencil icon.
  4. Change the permission level to World Readable to make sure users cannot modify the dashboard. Change the permission level to private to make the dashboard visible only to the owner.
